· Product: Describe as an hydrogen-fueled hybrid locomotive (hydrogen fuel cell system + high-power lithium batteries).
· Type: Shunting locomotive
· Collaboration between CRRC Qishuyan Co Ltd., CRRC Research Institute and Tongji University.
· Power: 1,400 kW (China’s most powerful hybrid hydrogen locomotive).
· Equipped with the company’s in-house developed hydrogen fuel-cell.
· Power stack: 400 kW.
· Fuel Cell lifetime: ~ 20,000 hours.
· Speed: 100 km/h.
· Starting tractive effort: 520 kN.
· Hydrogen tank equipped with 12-bottle set.
· Pressure: 350 bar.
· Autonomy: 24 hours (with a full hydrogen load).
· Maximum traction load: > 8,000 tons (on a flat and straight track).
· Noise level: 20dB lower than traditional locomotives.
· Presented as “fully capable of replacing 80% of the existing internal combustion shunting locomotives”.
· Type of operation: Shunting, local railways, small metallurgy / petrochemicals operations, ports and local railroads.
· Its hydrogen fuel cell system integration technology can be used for “upgrading and remanufacturing of in-service internal combustion locomotives”.
· Modular design: The locomotive is developed based on a high-power AC shunting locomotive platform and can be flexibly configure with power forms according to various needs of different users.
