It's only a demonstrator, yet the shiny yellow platform is already carrying three containers. One desalinizes seawater, the other transforms the electricity produced by a wind turbine and the third houses an electrolyzer, a machine capable of breaking the water molecule and thus providing hydrogen on one side and oxygen on the other: 400 kg of gas can thus be produced each day.

The demonstrator presented this Thursday by the company Lhyfe is due to be installed off the coast of Le Croisic (Loire-Atlantique) next March. The aim is to connect this type of platform to offshore wind farms.
