Coradia Stream H Enters Testing Phase
Italy's first hydrogen-powered train, the Coradia Stream H, departed this morning from the Savigliano site towards Salzgitter, Germany. Produced in Alstom's Italian factories, this train will run on the non-electrified Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line operated by Trenord, as part of the H2iseO project.

The train wears a special livery, distinct from its official one, to mark the beginning of the testing phase taking place over the coming weeks.

At Salzgitter, the first static tests with hydrogen and low-speed dynamic tests will be conducted. Coradia Stream H will then return to Italy for final dynamic testing on the Valcamonica railway line.

The project, developed thanks to the European Union's IPCEI funding, aligns with the EU's goal of a 100% CO2 emission reduction by 2050. It allows replacing current diesel trains with zero direct CO2 emission ones, with a total capacity of 260 seats and a range exceeding 600 kilometers.
