jan 31, 809 - Idriss II moved
government to
Fes
Description:
Idriss II wanted to be a true leader and not entirely reliant on the Awraba tribe. He appointed two Arabs who had arrived from Spain as his Visier and Qadi respectively. This made Ishaq B. Abdul Hamid angry and he began to plot against him. He then moved the capital from Walili to Fes. Fes had been built under his father, Idriss I, but didn't really begin to rise until Idriss II. The Idrissids were also responsible for the construction of Assila and Basra.
