The Franco-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its partners, the French (France Hydrogène) and German (DWV) Hydrogen Associations, organized a conference on July 1, 2021 to lay the foundations for a permanent exchange between France and Germany on hydrogen. France will dedicate €7.2 billion to the development of renewable or low-carbon hydrogen by 2030, to reach an electrolysis production capacity of 6.5 gigawatts. Germany's hydrogen strategy provides for some €9 billion (including €2 billion for international partnerships) with the objective of reaching an installed production capacity of 10 gigawatts by 2040.
