This war is fought between Spain and the US over the affairs of Cuba. Revolts were already widespread in Cuba and America started to help these revolts in their Independence War, which is entering the Spanish American War.

The US won this war and they gained some islands that were under the Spanish Kingdom. Also, it proved that the US is a strong nation internationally.
