jan 1, 1467 BC - Israelites Conquer Canaan

Description:

After 40 years in the wilderness, the nation of Israel - now led by a man called Joshua - crossed the Jordan river and into Canaan. There they destroyed the city of Jericho with the help of God, and began a six-year military campaign overthrowing the various cities and towns throughout the Levant, until finishing their conquest in 1467 BCE. At that point, they then divided the land amongst the twelve tribes of Israel, based on who had descended from Joseph and his eleven brothers.
